Beth Givens
Director of Privacy Right Clearinghouse, a Californian association (United States)

Beth Givens is the founder and director of the Privacy Rights Clearinghouse, a nongovernment organization based in San Diego California. It was established in 1992. The Clearinghouse has a dual mission: to provide information to consumers about how to safeguard their privacy, and to advocate for consumer protection in public policy arenas such as legislative and regulatory agency proceedings.

Givens has over 20 years experience in consumer advocacy and public policy. She is author of The Privacy Rights Handbook (1997), and is author/editor of the Clearinghouse's many Fact Sheets. She is often interviewed by the media. And she has served on many task forces to shape public policy, representing consumers' interests.

Givens holds a master's degree from the University of Southern California Annenberg School for Communication as well as a master's degree in librarianship from the University of Denver. Science (GI).
